The following links are some of the many resources which are available to answer lawn care questions pertinent to homeowners.

UC Guide to Healthy Lawns
The UC Guide to Healthy Lawns is designed for home gardeners and managers of parks, school grounds, and other low-maintenance turf. The sections include choosing and identifying turf species, preparing a site to plant turf, lawn care for both new and established lawns, lawn renovation, and pest management.

UC Agricultural and Natural Resources (ANR) Turf and Lawns Publications

UC ANR Communication Services produces a variety of practical, research-based educational media -- publications, videos, slide presentations, interactive distance learning, audio recordings and electronic multimedia. This link will take you directly to the turf and lawn section of the UC ANR catalog.

Pest Notes
(such as Lawn Diseases and Lawn Insects)
This database supplies the University of California's official guidelines for pest monitoring techniques, pesticides, and nonpesticide alternatives for managing pests in homes and landscapes. Spanish edition (Notas Breves en español) is also available.

California Master Gardeners Network
Master Gardeners are trained volunteers with the University of California Cooperative Extension program. They extend the ability of local Cooperative Extension offices to provide practical scientific horticulture and gardening information to the citizens of California. This WebPage network is designed to help Master Gardeners serve the public and to enhance the delivery of new information directly to the gardening public.

UC Cooperative Extension County Offices
UC Cooperative Extension has farm, 4-H, and nutrition, family and consumer sciences advisors based in more than 50 county offices. In addition, Cooperative Extension specialists are headquartered at UC Berkeley, UC Davis, and UC Riverside, where they conduct research and coordinate advisors’ activities. As a land-grant institution, the Cooperative Extension mandate is tied to the welfare, development, and protection of California agriculture, natural resources, and people.

Environmental Horticulture Research and Information Center (EHRIC)

EHRIC provides research, news, and information on the California horticulture industry. Located at the Department of Environmental Horticulture at UC Davis, EHRIC is a cooperative project among UC Extension specialists, county advisors, and Experiment Station faculty. The goal of EHRIC is to assist industry, government agencies, and the general public with environmental horticulture problems.
