| | Samples should consist of 1 or 2 cup cutter sized plugs wrapped in newspaper or placed into a paper bag. Plastic bags will often suffocate turf and result in a misdiagnosis. |
| | Samples should be from newly diseased areas and should be approximately 50% healthy and 50% diseased. |
| | Samples should be untreated; please obtain disease samples before fungicide applications. |
| | Package samples with enough padding to ensure that they don't break up during shipping. |
| | Ship samples in sturdy, sealed containers such as heavy duty cardboard boxes. |
| | Digital images of the disease will also aid in the diagnosis. Please enclose images on a disk or CD, or e-mail them to the pathology lab. |
